Pounamu - Greenstone

Pounamu (New Zealand Greenstone) Jewellery holds a lot of significance to the Maori people and their culture. The greenstone isn't just decorative; these beautiful pieces often represent their ancestors, elements in nature, or personal attributes like strength and prosperity. 

The most common designs found in Pounamu Jewellery are the Toki - to represent strength, the Koru - to represent new beginnings, the hei matau (fish hook) - top represent prosperity and safe journeys.
